読み書きのツボ〔紅の恐怖〕、その１はおおむね理解していただけた様子です。「attempt」とは「宣言する」こと、「inflict」とは「最低1点のダメージを与える」ことなんですね。

読み書きのツボ〔紅の恐怖〕、その２では〔紅の恐怖〕の効果について述べてゆきます。本文を見てみましょう。

Can only be played when a minion attempts to make a strike to inflict aggravated damage against the opposing vampire. Put this card on a vampire when an opposing minion attempts to inflict aggravated damage on him or her, whether the damage would be successfully inflicted or not. Combat ends. This vampire is tapped and sent to torpor. This vampire does not untap as normal. During this vampire's next untap phase, burn this card.

線を引いた部分についてはその１で触れていますから、今回は残りの部分を解釈します。まずはヴァンパイアに置きます、簡単ですな。そして「Combat ends」、つまりストライク宣言時に戦闘が終了してしまいます。
あとはヴァンパイアがタップされると同時に休眠し、次のターンのアンタップフェーズでもアンタップしません。また、アンタップしないのと同時に〔紅の恐怖〕を焼きます。
